Privacy and cookies

This site counts page views with Google Analytics 4. It has no accounts, no forms, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking. This page says what is recorded, what is not, and how to stop it.

Recorded

What is recorded

One request goes to Google Analytics when a page opens. It carries the five items below and nothing else.

Page
The path of the page you opened, and the address of the page that sent you here. The search term you typed is not part of either.
Approximate location
The country, derived by Google from the network address of the request. The full address is not stored here.
Device
Browser name and version, operating system, screen size, and the language the browser asks for.
Identifier
A random number kept in a first-party cookie, so that two visits can be told apart from one. It holds no name, address, or account.
Time
When the page opened, and how long it stayed open.

Aggregated, this answers one question: which pages are read, and which are not. It is not used to build a profile of a person, and it is not joined to any other site.

Not recorded

What is not recorded

These are not collected, and there is no field on the site that could collect them.

  • No name, email address, or postal address. No page here asks for one.
  • No search query. The search box uses an index that is downloaded with the page; what you type is matched inside the browser and is never sent anywhere.
  • No form submission. This deployment has no form endpoint, so there is nothing to submit and nothing stored.
  • No advertising, remarketing, or cross-site profile. There is no advertising pixel and no social embed on any page.
  • No sale of data. Nothing collected here is sold or handed to anyone beyond the analytics provider.

Cookies

The two cookies

A page load sets _ga and _ga_<container>. Both belong to greencomo.com and both are written by Google Analytics. They stay on the device until they expire or until you delete them.

Nothing else sets a cookie. There is no login, no embedded video, no advertising tag, and no third-party script other than the analytics tag itself.

Processor

Who else sees it

Google Analytics is operated by Google LLC and Google Ireland Limited, acting on this site's instructions. Google's own handling of that data is set out in the Google privacy policy. Processing can take place outside the country you are reading from.

Refusal

How to stop it

Close the page before it loads and nothing is sent. If you want to read the site without being counted, any one of these is enough:

  • Block analytics cookies in the browser settings. Every page reads the same without them.
  • Delete the two cookies after a visit. The next visit starts a new identifier.
  • Install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, which stops the tag on every site that uses it.

This site has no consent banner. Where the law requires opt-in before an analytics cookie is set, a banner is the mechanism that would satisfy it, and this site does not have one yet: blocking the cookie in the browser is the route that works today, and it is enough. Write to [email protected] if you want the exact detail of what a single visit records.

Outside

What this notice does not cover

Writing to the address in the footer opens your own mail client, and the message then travels through your mail provider and ours under their terms. This site stores nothing from that exchange; the mailbox does.

Changes

If this changes

This notice is dated 21 October 2026. If the analytics setup changes, this page changes with it, in all eight languages, in the same release. The edition line at the top of the page is the version.
