What the record shows

The national standards library lists T/CNITA 09115-2025, 无锑干巾, English title Antimony-free nonwoven towels, dated 27 June 2025 and shown as current, among the related standards for the 柔巾 standard.

The T/ prefix denotes a 团体标准 — a group or association standard, issued by an association recognised for the purpose rather than by the national standardising administration. CNITA is the China Nonwovens and Industrial Textiles Association. Group standards exist alongside national standards; they are separate documents with separate issuers, and a contract that names one has not named the other.

This entry stops at the catalogue record deliberately. The limit, the test method, the fibres it applies to and the way conformity is demonstrated are all in the text, and the text has not been read here. A standard number is a pointer to a document, not a summary of it, and inventing the summary is the failure mode that makes standards writing worthless.

Why the word needed a number

"Antimony-free" is a materials claim before it is a marketing word. Antimony compounds are used as catalysts in some polymer production, so a residue can be present in a fibre without being an ingredient of it. A claim that a towel is free of such a residue is only usable when three things are attached: the substance and the limit, the method used to measure it, and the scope — which fibre, which layer, which part of the finished product.

A named standard gives buyers somewhere to point when they ask those three questions. It does not make the claim true for a given roll. Conformity is still a property of a batch, shown by a report on that batch.

Four questions that turn the word into a claim

  • Which document defines "antimony-free" for this product, and what limit does it set?
  • Which method measures it, and how does the method's detection limit compare with that limit? A limit below the detection limit is not a limit.
  • Which fibres in the product does the declaration cover? A blend can carry the claim for one component and not the other.
  • Is the declaration per batch or per material grade? One is evidence about a shipment; the other is evidence about a purchase order for fibre.

What this does not mean

  • It does not mean any regulation discussed on this site requires an antimony-free towel. No such requirement is asserted here.
  • It does not mean our products carry this standard or any antimony declaration. This site makes no such claim, and a reader should not infer one from an entry about the standard.
  • It does not mean group standards and national standards are interchangeable in a contract. They are different documents, and only the one named applies.
